Denver County Fair has Urban appeal!!

Be part of history and go check out the very first Denver County Fair to be held July 28-31st at the National Western Complex. The Denver County Fair is making history and redefining the county fair.  An Associated Press reporter was quoted as saying she believes that the fair is starting a new trend and that other county fairs around the US will begin copying Denver’s format within a year or two.

The fair will include carnivals, an animal pavilion with petting zoo, Dumb Friends League, trick pig acts, and the Denver 4-H will be there in a huge pavilion right by the entrance.

Denver is hoping this will build their 4-H group … which has been smallish and inactive.  They finally have their own FAIR .. .and the Denver kids – since they don’t really milk cows and such – are into ….. ROCKETS AND ROBOTS … and cool stuff! (did I mention the whole urban angle?)

And the shows look fun! Am I the only one who remembers Blinky’s fun club? Wow, how fun to see him – and don’t even get me started on DEVO (tickets are sold seperately for that – but wow, how cool!). All of this and an amazing Barnum-esque Freak Show!

Booth spaces are really filling up now, and some pavilions are sold out. Most only have 2 – 5 spaces left. The deadline for booth reservations is Wednesday July 20 or while they last. Booths include:
  • Animal Pavilion
  • Buy Local Pavilion
  • Farm and Garden
  • Craft Pavilion
  • Holistic Pavilion
  • Fashion Pavilion
  • Fine Art Pavilion
  • Green Pavilion
  • Kitchen Pavilion
  • Welcome Pavilion
  • Youth Pavilion
  • Freak Show and More!

It all sounds like a ton of fun – tickets are affordable at $10/adult $5 for kids and you can get the even more affordable 4 day passes for $25 for adults and $10 for kids!
