Give the Special People in Your Life the Gift of Time

The holidays have come and gone and were marked by the days we spent rushing around — cooking, cleaning, baking, wrapping. As parents and spouses, we all get caught up in the rush of the season. But when it comes down to it, what we all really want from each other is time.

My partner Todd recently mentioned to me that a lot of pressure is put on men to find special moments to spend with their partners. As wives or girlfriends, we seem to expect men to create special date nights and activities. It occurred to me that in our case, he’d organized the last few of our dates and maybe it was time I stepped up and surprised him.

So, I decided to hop on Denver Date Nite’s website and see if I could do my part to set aside some fun time together. If you haven’t heard of Denver Date Nite, it makes this chore fun and easy! All you have to do is go to DenverDN.com and set your preferences for your date, overnight, or weekend getaway and their date planners take care of every detail.

You set the budget, your likes/dislikes and some general information and they connect you with ideas that would take you hours to find on your own to create a unique VIP experience that lets you spend your energy on each other.

The experience was amazing.

We started our evening at Flux Studio, an amazing business that accommodates beginners through artists who want to blow glass and create a unique piece. We were treated to a private glass blowing tutorial for two and got to create our own drinking glass! We had a great time and were able to work together – we learned a lot and the experience was creative and fun!

Then we were off to dinner at Il Posto in RiNo – an amazing little restaurant right across the street from the Denver Parent offices (nope, we’d never been there!). Thanks to Denver Date Nite, we were all set up to partake in one of the most exclusive chef’s tastings in town. The chef hand selected five courses for the two of us to enjoy. We had a wonderful time eating from each other’s plates and comparing notes  – Todd skipped the mushroom soup (he hates them, I thought it was delicious; more for me!)

What struck us afterward was how the whole night was designed so we could chat and enjoy each other’s company. Time – ultimately what we both needed from each other!
