Top 5 family highlights from the Denver Auto show

Favorite Family Cars:

Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid (coming soon as the FIRST pacificahybrid minivan) – I really shouldn’t pick a favorite car, but for families this year, the Pacifica is pretty groundbreaking. First, they’ve tried really really hard to make it NOT look like a minivan (honestly I think we should just “own it” and get over driving one!) – but it’s pretty sleek and not offensive in that traditional “family car” way. And the interior is awesome!

pacifica2First, ladies – they PUT IN A PLACE FOR YOUR PURSE _ YOUR BIG PURSE! (seriously, is this not the most obvious thing that’s been missing in family cars for years?). There is also room for a full size Ipad in the drawer (shown left) and there are tons of USB’s in the front AND back seat – including HDMI connections and entertainment systems for those boring drives across states whose names we won’t mention.  Which brings me to the “Are we there yet” game on the entertainment system which allows your kids to look at the map and calculate exactly how much time is left in your drive.

There is an outstanding amount of storage (which is how they’re able to convert this to a hybrid) and just a ton of nifty extras…seriously check this one out if you’re in the market for a family vehicle.

jaguarJaguar F-Pace -Jaguar’s first-ever SUV, brings the brand’s sexy styling and athletic into a new market so that someone finally gets the right to say they drive a Jaguar “Family Car”!

You can see taking the kids to sporting events and traveling in this pretty nifty car (not to mention the coolness factor of driving a Jag to a ball game).  Starting at $40,000 it’s not even totally out of reach financially! Powertrains include a standard 340-hp supercharged V-6 or an optional 380-hp supercharged V-6. Both have an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. A diesel will appear later.
