Last night went to “Disney on Ice – Princess Classics” at the Denver Coliseum. What a fun night! My kids are 8 and 10, and while some people might feel they’d be “too old”, who’s too old for some of their favorite childhood characters AND some fantastic skating!
First, I think this is one of my favorite venues. If you park in the large lot, the parking is free and the people who work there are nice, polite and eager to help (we had to ask directions a few times). It’s not as posh as the Pepsi Center, but I think it’s just easier to get around in.
We were lucky enough to see “Disney on Ice, Let’s Celebrate” at the Pepsi Center earlier this year and although that show was great, I have to say I thought this one was better. The costumes were fabulous! Gorgeous dresses and many costume changes with fun songs and – have I mentioned this before? –
some awesome ice skating! The stories were easy to follow (short recreations of the Princess stories) and so fun for the kids to relive all their favorite Princess Movies (Missy C remembered she needed to see “Mulan” again! 🙂 )
The show highlights all the “favorite” princesses (although my son was disappointed that Princess and a Frog weren’t represented – grin!) with Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Ariel, and Cinderella (with the entire Cinderella story being told after the intermission!).
My only complaint, as usual, is you have to take out a second mortgage to buy any of the collectibles at the event. Snowcones (in collectible cups) were a whopping $15.
